2024 weaning MUSTER

The Weaning Muster for 2024 commenced with the Commercial Santa Gertrudis and Angus herds in early April. This structured three-week program is designed to optimize the future for both time and financial resources, while also playing a pivotal role in enhancing MSA grading outcomes. The process involves implementing disciplined management practices to ensure the highest standards of cattle development and grading consistency.

In late April, our focus shifted to the F1 Angus x Wagyu Fullblood Weaning Muster. Given that these breeding cows are distributed across two properties, these calves were brought together at a centralized location to undergo the same three week program. We have added a few new practices like DNA sampling, integral to maintaining standards of genetic tracking and herd management.

The final phase of the muster began in May, culminating with the completion of the Santa Gertrudis herd at our property ‘Linden’. We wish to extend our  appreciation to the exceptional team we are lucky enough to have. Their dedication has been vital in achieving our operational goals and upholding the quality standards of our herds.

For those who want a closer look, we've got some great photos showcasing the process. Check them out and see our team in action.
